Our staff at Supreme Dental is proud to offer the best state-of-the-art dental technology right here in our office in Stamford, CT . Modern dentistry tools and techniques have revolutionized the level of care that restorative and cosmetic treatments can provide. Our Office uses the latest state-of-the-art dental technology to bring exceptional care to our patients.
Digital radiography (digital x-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged helping the dentist and dental hygienist detect problems easier. Digital x-rays reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.
Dental x-rays are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. Dentists and dental hygienists use this information to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan. Without x-rays, problem areas may go undetected.
Our treatment rooms have both intro-oral cameras and patient computer monitors. The intra-oral cameras allow Dr. Ghorbani to view your teeth and gums in precise detail. These images are transmitted to the patient computer monitor allowing Dr. Ghorbani to communicate information about diagnosis and treatment options with patients more easily than was possible in the past.
The iTero scanner is a machine that has a small, wand-like instrument attached to it. We move the wand around a patient’s mouth, and it captures thousands of frames per second. The attached software reassembles those images into a detailed, three-dimensional representation of the patient’s teeth.
We can use the iTero scanner for a number of different applications. For example, it is extremely useful when Dr. Ghorbani is designing crowns, bridges, or other types of restorations. It is also noteworthy for its compatibility with Invisalign. The iTero software makes it extremely easy for us to share data about patients’ teeth with Invisalign, and the impressions are so precise that the chances of Invisalign rejecting them are much lower than if we used manual impressions.
The iTero scanner delivers a multitude of benefits. Here are just a few:
- The scanning process is fast. Compared to manual impressions, iTero digital impressions can shorten appointment times by 20 minutes or more.
- The iTero wand is quite small, which reduces the risk of gagging.
- Unlike other digital impression tools, the iTero machine does not require the use of any messy powder to coat the teeth.
- Since we can send iTero impressions to relevant parties digitally, we can reduce the waste that comes from packaging and shipping manual impressions.
- The ability to share impressions digitally eliminates the time that we would spend waiting for manual impressions to be shipped to a laboratory.
- The iTero software has an Outcome Simulator for Invisalign, so you can get a preview of your results before you even put that first aligner in your mouth!
In 2007, iTero launched its first intraoral scanner. This revolutionary piece of dental equipment changed the landscape for dentists and orthodontists, allowing them to work more effectively and efficiently by taking advantage of enhanced digital scanning. Laser dentistry is not very common, though there are many benefits to using laser during procedures. Wounds from the surgery heal much faster because there is less damage to the surrounding tissue. Lasers minimize bleeding and post-surgical bacterial infections. Often, anesthesia and sutures are not needed after procedures when a laser is used.
Laser dentistry makes procedures much smoother, more efficient, and less painful for patients. People who are afraid or very anxious at the dentist should find dentists who offer laser dentistry. They will be surprised at how painless it can be to come to the dentist.
LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, a complicated string of words that basically means a single wavelength beam of highly concentrated light energy.
Lasers have transformed medical surgery by offering minimally-invasive alternatives to traditional scalpel incisions and sutured closures. The laser’s intense, narrow wavelength has precise, predictable, and powerful reactions when it contacts hard or soft tissues of the body. Laser light is extremely efficient, producing very little heat as it acts on its target. This makes it ideal for oral surgery, since it seldom affects tissues other than those it targets. The laser provides precise control over the depth and extent of cutting, while simultaneously minimizing bleeding and sterilizing the treatment area.
Identafi Multi-Spectral, Oral Cancer Screening Device
The deep penetrating power of the Identafi® multiple wavelengths will enhance the early detection of mucosal abnormalities that may be cancerous.
The new Identafi® uses the Identafi® Multi-Spectral Fluorescence and Reflectance technology to enhance visualization of mucosal abnormalities such as oral cancer or premalignant dysplasia that may not be apparent to the naked eye. But unlike other fluorescence technologies and dye systems, the Identafi® is Multi-Spectral with three distinct color wavelengths, making it easier to distinguish lesion morphology and vasculature aiding the dental professional in determining next steps.
DuraMaX Extraoral Suction System
This aerosol control system removes contaminants produced during dental procedures including droplets, aerosols, blood, dust, and virus and uses the most advanced Quattro layer filtration system to kill virus and bacteria absorbed with over 99.9% efficiency.
During treatments, a high volume of droplets and aerosols are produced by high-speed handpieces, ultrasonic scalers, and air water syringe that can linger in the air for up to two hours.
This places practitioners and office staff health at risk of infections.
DuraMax Extraoral Suction System will effectively remove these droplets and aerosols from the immediate treatment site thereby reducing the potential danger from dental aerosols and keep the air in your office safe and clean.
